Monthly Business Meeting

VFW Post 5290 House and Regular Business Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month. The House Committee Meeting begins at 5:30p, followed by the monthly business meeting at 6:30p.

Post Lounge is OPEN!!!

Post 5290 Lounge is open Thursdays from 6 pm to midnight with Karaoke beginning at 8 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, the Post Lounge is open from 5 p.m. to midnight. Come out and be a part of the action. We will have live music on Saturdays.

Youth Scholarships

The VFW is dedicated to promoting patriotism and investing in our future generation. If you are a democracy-loving high school student interested in a $35,000 college scholarship or a patriotic middle school student interested in winning $5,000, these scholarships may be for you. Teamwork ~ Leadership ~ Commitment

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is a nonprofit veterans service organization comprised of eligible veterans and military service members from the active, guard and reserve forces. We welcome veterans from all generations to join our ranks and help carry out our mission. 

Our Mission: To foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans. 

Our Vision: Ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.


There is a new cartoon everyday.
